1-2 Prenatal Visits:

Virtually or in-home ideally around 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy (can change depending on hire date).

Get to know one another, present evidence-based information, review your goals, desires, questions, and concerns, birth planning, and postpartum preparation.

Support (via phone, text, and email).

Unlimited text, phone, and email support throughout pregnancy until 6 weeks postpartum.

Labor and Birth Support:

We will be with you (at home and/or the birth location) from the moment you request support until 1-2 hours after baby’s birth.

1-2 Postpartum Visits:

In-home visit about 3-10 days and one 1 month after birth.

We will reflect on your birth experience, answer questions, and provide referrals as needed.

*Option to add-on pre and postnatal visits for an additional fee.

The State of Oregon now pays for birth doula services for pregnant Oregon Health Plan members!

As a THW (Traditional Healthcare Worker) we are certified to provide services to OHP Members.

THW Doulas work with your health care team, and first you will need to have your doctor or midwife prescribe a THW Doula for you by noting that in your medical chart.

Here is some things you can expect from having a THW Doula care for you:

2 Postpartum Visits:

In-home visit about 3-10 days and one 1 month after birth.

We will reflect on your birth experience, answer questions, and will provide referrals as needed.

CLIENT ELIGIBILITY

All OHP clients are eligible for doula services. The primary purpose of this law is to improve birth outcomes, lower health care costs, increase the quality of care, and reduce health care disparities that exist with certain groups of clients. Priorities for services include:

(a) A woman with a racially or ethnically diverse background including, Black/African American, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Latino, or multi-racial

(b) A homeless woman

(c) A woman who speaks limited to no English

(d) A woman who has limited to no family support

(e) A woman who is under the age of 21

(f) Women who are medically high risk
